Furniture Finisher

The Joinery, Portland’s iconic handcrafted furniture maker, is seeking a full- and part-time Furniture Finisher to join our team.

Every piece of our furniture is handcrafted by a single master woodworker. The Furniture Finisher plays a vital role in that process. You are the final steward of each piece, ensuring the surface, feel, and finish reflect the quality we promise for a lifetime.

Your Role

• Hand sand solid wood furniture to exacting standards
• Apply our proprietary finishing oil
• Inspect each piece as the final quality control step 
• Collaborate with teammates to solve challenges
• Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient workspace

What We Are Looking For

• Experience sanding and finishing furniture or cabinetry
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet production timelines
• Problem-solving ability
• Verbal communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods
