After leading The Joinery for 31 years, founder Marc Gaudin decided it was time to “repurpose” his life, and in late 2013 he sold the company to Jon Blumenauer. Marc was intent on finding a buyer who could grow The Joinery while maintaining its dedication to high quality handcrafted furniture and commitment to sustainability.
He found the perfect fit in Jon. The founder of Hutani Sustainability Strategies, Jon has spent the last several years helping companies devise, implement and communicate sustainable business strategies that improve long-term competitiveness. He has worked previously with Nike and G4S International, and has over a decade of international management experience with postings throughout Asia and Europe.
Now Jon is happy to be back in his hometown leading a company that has become a Portland icon.
