Fabric Pick: Robert Allen Bluebells

Today's fabric picks come from the Robert Allen Bluebell Color Library book, and are just two patterns that have a certain amount of pop that is keeping us going in as we descend into the darker fall months. There is something just sort of free and easy about these two, a little bit island, a little bit sophisticated.

The top pictured fabric is Sweet Nothings in Bluebell and has both a horizontal and vertical repeat, making it a great candidate for a larger piece like a sofa. You can see the whole pattern repeat here. The fabric is a rayon/cotton blend with a Teflon coating and has a strong, soft feel to it.

The second pictured fabric brings in a more handcrafted feel with washed out hues and visible weave, but keeps things a little buttoned up with the rigid stripes. This fabric can be used vertically or horizontally to great effect, and it's minimized repeat makes it a great candidate for smaller pieces as well as those larger seating elements. It's cotton/polyester blend gives it a soft, comforting feel. A great application for these fun fabrics might be the Slipper Chair, which has enough upholstery to show off the bold design, but is diminutive enough to not overwhelm a space. The perfect accent!
