Simple geometrics can be a great choice for upholstery, because while they add visual texture up close, from a distance and in the expanse of a room, they tend to blend together to create a united color scheme. Our Celilo Stool recently have come onto the showroom floor, rounding out the Celilo Dining Group. The spare, modern lines lend themselves to a spot of color to break up the graphic quality of the chair. For the stools we have on the floor, we chose a small Robert Allen pattern called Motivation, in Prussian. This fabric is available in 4 colorways, and has a delicate quality to it that make it ideal for upholstered pieces that don’t need bold statements, but where a little interest is desired.
Motivation might look fantastic paired with another highly textured piece, like the Soliloquy pattern Ondule. This unusual pattern brings thoughts of water, or sand dudes, and has such sophisticated and subtle feel to it. The patterns, while contrasting, work together to bring out their individual beauty.
