Once your heirlooms are completed, there are four different ways to get them from our shop to you:
A number of our customers chose to pick-up their furniture, rather than have it delivered. For this reason, we do not include any delivery expenses in the prices of our furniture as it would not be fair to those who pick-up their furniture.
Typically, a time for pick-up is arranged in advance. We will assist in loading the furniture and ask that you bring plenty of padding, blankets, and tie-downs to protect your pieces on the ride home.
We deliver furniture locally on a regular basis. Deliveries within the Portland metropolitan area are charged according to zip code. Occasionally we deliver beyond the Portland areaócharges for this service are determined on a per hour and mile basis for the round trip. We give you an estimate prior to delivery and calculate the actual amount when the delivery is complete. Although we do not wire any electronic or office equipment, deliveries by The Joinery do include any furniture setup and placement within the home.
We use this method regularly for customers on the West Coast and occasionally for customers across the U.S. Shipment is usually coordinated through The Joinery. There are no packaging costs associated and the furniture will be moved into your house. The cost is determined by the Blanket Wrap shipper and is typically a percentage of The Joinery invoice total and minimums or drop fees may apply. Payment is normally paid directly to the shipper.
Blanket Wrap Shipping is often less expensive than Common Carrier, depending on the specifics of the delivery. However, geographic coverage and timing flexibility are generally more limited for locations other than the West Coast.
This method is often best for shipments across the U.S. and beyond. Arrangements are usually made through The Joinery. There are two costs involved with this method: packaging and shipping. Packaging depends on the piece of furniture and is added to The Joinery invoice at the time of packaging. Costs range from $50 to $250 (or more for large custom pieces).
Shipping charges are determined by the Common Carrier and can be paid through The Joinery or directly to the carrier. Common Carriers usually place the packaged furniture in the driveway or garage. For an additional fee, arrangements can usually be made to unpack the furniture and move it into your home.
